I’m getting ready to watch the last Democratic debate. I can’t stand any of them, except for Bernie. And I detest Trump. Growing up in the Bronx everyone was a Democrat - Blacks, Jews, Irish, Puerto Ricans and Italians. Most of the guys I knew growing up are still Democrat. Most feel that as they have attained middle class status, with home ownership, the Democratic Party has abandoned them. Some have started voting Republican and several voted for Trump. Most of those old friends have remained church/temple goers. Most are unabashedly pro-life. For several of them it is an issue that trumps (no pun intended) all others. The Dems have ignored all of us and continues to do so at its own peril. Here’s a great Opinion piece from the NY Post - that I agree with wholeheartedly.
