Live Well
It's Good Friday. For me and most of my Christian friends, a very solemn day. For my Jewish friends the start of Passover. For my teacher friends it's the first day of a long awaited respite. I've been reading some of the information on the political fronts both locally and nationally. To be honest all it used to do was upset me, but not anymore. I've become desensitized to most of it. I don't care if the UFT loses 99% of its membership; I don't care if Trump goes into a brothel with an I.V. of Viagra, films it and puts it on the 6 o'clock news. He was right when he said he could shoot someone on 5th Avenue and get away with it.
Then there's the UFT - Mulgrew and all his cronies have their knickers in a twist over Janus. The UFT isn't doing anything for teachers and Trump isn't doing anything for the country. Both are playing on fear. For Trump it fear of immigrants, Muslims, China, liberals, etc.,etc. For the UFT it's fear of everything remotely connected to the teaching profession. They both use distractions to keep our focus off them. What have either of them done for anyone but themselves and those that they are connected to by blood, friendship or money? How does one deal with all this? Live your life to the fullest. Enjoy your family and friends. If something happens that directly impacts your life - speak out, but don't let it ruin or define you. Living well is the best revenge.
