Who Will Fight for Democracy?

Way back in the 1980s, I had a good friend, Harry, who had  immigrated from Hong Kong. He and his family did this via Canada. His family were billionaires and Hong Kong was going back to China in 1997.  His father made a preemptive decision to immigrate to England. England denied his family’s request to relocate (as they did most Hong Kong families), even though they were British citizens. So the family went the Canada to New York route - the same route many Irish, Jamaican and former British subjects went. Harry’s family had a lot of money they wanted to invest and Harry’s father became enamored of Donald Trump. He was trying to get involved in a Trump plan to buy David’s island off New Rochelle. Harry was a character - his accent was a mix of Chinese and English, he was effeminate and overweight. Harry could make a cat laugh and liked to imitate Trump way back then. None of us knew Trump well enough to know if the imitations were true - we just laughed our heads off. Many Chinese billionaires helped Trump repeatedly during the 1980’s - they liked him and responded to his luxury label and ostentatious lifestyle. It was at this same time  Tiananmen Square played out. It reinforced his father’s decision.

Over the years, I lost touch with Harry, but thought of him when I watched Hong Kong’s citizens fighting for democracy. I kept hoping Trump would get involved. I promised my conservative friends - who assured me Trump would help - that I would vote for him if he helped Hong Kong and democracy. Much to my surprise he is attempting to do so. https://nypost.com/2019/11/28/rocky-shock-for-china-makes-trump-hong-kong-hero/?utm_campaign=iosapp&utm_source=message_app
https://nypost.com/2019/11/30/rocky-trump-in-hong-kong-what-a-weird-world-it-is/?utm_campaign=iosapp&utm_source=pasteboard_app
As I look at the Democratic Party’s presidential candidates and their continual equivocations to everyone, as well as their concerted efforts to be politically correct - while at the same attempting to have a unique message - I am nauseated. Then there’s Bloomberg.  If I’m to be perfectly objective, he’s the best shot they have.  They absolutely do not want Bernie.  So who is it going to be?  Bloomberg or Trump?

Poetry and Current Events, Autumn 2019

I’ve been reading a lot of poetry and also contemplating our current state of affairs. Two seemingly dissimilar bodies of fiction, but together they train the mind towards reality. Both are depressing and need to be carefully examined. I spent last night reading and interpreting poems I had long forgotten or never knew existed. Two Corbies https://m.poemhunter.com/poem/the-twa-corbies/, The Wife’s Lament, The Wanderer http://shslboyd.pbworks.com/f/The+Wanderer+text.pdf, To An Athlete Dying Young by A.E. Houseman and the lyrics to  The Battle Hymn of the Republic https://music.mybuddyben.com/the-battle-hymn-of-the-republic-lyrics-only/by Julia Ward Howe. The Wanderer, for me, was the most powerful, but the Houseman poem was the most poignant. The most interesting in regards to current events is the The Battle Hymn of the Republic (not Republican)  - it mixes violence and Christianity into a heart thumping war cry. After reading those works my mind fell onto several seemingly unrelated events in much the same way those poems were thrown together.  Jeffery Epstein’s death (Two Corbies), the Trump impeachment hearings (The Battle Hymn of the Republic) and Mike Bloomberg’s presidential campaign (The Wanderer).

Let’s look at each - Jeffery Epstein - billionaire, sex addict, friend to the politically powerful and serial winner in everything. The media and the powers that be (i.e.,William Barr) would have us believe this man killed himself. The autopsy contradicts that, his meeting with friends and lawyers belie it and the complete break down of all safeguards in a high security prison for a guest of incredible notoriety prove it. Why is William Barr saying it was suicide as a side bar to the impeachment hearings? Who’s behind Epstein’s murder?  Why is the media rapidly ignoring the Epstein case as a murder case (while branding him a pedophile)?

Well that would be our next work, The Battle Hymn of the Republic, also known as the impeachment hearings. These hearings are seen as a battle by both sides - each is sure that G-d is on their side. What are these hearings about? Propaganda ( like our afore mentioned lyrics) for each side and the moral victory that each will claim. What are these hearings in reality?  A complete waste of time. Everyone knows Trump had his quid pro quo, but will it result in his removal?  Of course not. People that support Trump don’t care what he does and will vote for him no matter what or what  Nancy says.  The whole thing is a farce - as is Trump’s whole presidency. Most people like to be entertained, so they don’t mind.

Some see this very differently - namely Mike Bloomberg. The Wanderer is a very old Anglo Saxon poem of extreme perseverance. Bloomberg is The Wanderer - he’s  making pragmatic decisions concerning his past and future. He very well could be the Democratic Party’s nominee. He is the real deal. He is a financial genius, incredibly wealthy and a true negotiator. He’s smart enough not to get into a fight that he can’t win. Make no mistake, he intends on becoming the next President of the United States. Those who think that he has no chance are severely underestimating him - the same way they did with Trump. Bloomberg announced today he is running for the presidency and that should give many pause and cause for real concern.

  Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

The Great Apology Tour and Kyle Smith likes Bloomberg (What a Surprise!!!)

As I mentioned in my last post, Bloomy is out and about apologizing to the groups he needs to vote for him on his way to the White House. He’s crossed Women off the list and today it was Blacks - (I’m sure his actual list has Bitches and Coloreds written in red). Does Bloomberg understand how many lives he ruined and futures he dimmed because of stop and frisk? I know one kid (at the time) that got arrested, booked and lost his scholarship because he was arrested during stop and frisk while coming home with a loose joint. https://nypost.com/2019/11/17/bloomberg-apologizes-for-stop-and-frisk-police-policy/

The folks that love Bloomy love him for those he attacked - the poor, the middle-class, the unions, public school teachers, the homeless and the mentally ill. There are many that I believe will never get an apology - namely us.  Our old friend Kyle Smith, who likened us to radioactive sharks https://atradventures.blogspot.com/2019/08/are-nyc-public-school-teachers.html?m=1, is back to elevating charters, denigrating unionized teachers while disguising it as a begrudging love letter to Bloomberg. Kyle writes with the assumption that his audience are complete fools  : https://nypost.com/2019/11/16/why-bloombergs-presidential-run-doesnt-have-a-hope-in-hell/?utm_campaign=iosapp&utm_source=pasteboard_app
“I have a filthy, embarrassing little secret: I like Mike Bloomberg. He’s smart, he’s tough, he’s an able manager. As mayor of this little village on the sea, he drove down crime and hugely improved public education by ramming through the teachers unions to create space for charter schools, which now educate more than 100,000 New York City kids. He understands how the city works and boosted the real estate industry and Wall Street. Oh, and he bulldozed those smelly Oberlin twerps out of their little Occupy Wall Street performance-art playground, which was not only the right policy decision but also hugely entertaining.”

Well, Kyle, I have a filthy little secret too - Not all of us are fools. I hope to see every charter school in this city eventually shuttered and the UFT finally become a real union again.

How Much Will Bloomy Pay for the Presidency?

There’s only one man that could make me actively campaign for Donald Trump - and that man is Mike Bloomberg. In one way, I feel I may be wrong - in that I actually feel like a cuckold. Who’s more to blame for what happened to teachers - Randi or Bloomy? Randi refused to meet with Bloomy, then had a secret lunch with him and came back with the 2005 teacher’s contract. Her endorsement closed the deal. I liked and respected her and met with her once for a long conversation in which she totally charmed me. Her betrayal still stings. The ramifications of that contract are still felt to this very day - that contract castrated us and the UFT. I always hear folks complaining that the UFT and teachers don’t have balls -  now you know why. Well this is old news - I divorced the UFT, but the slimeball that ruined the marriage is back in town apologizing to women. https://nypost.com/2019/11/14/bloomberg-apologizes-for-sexist-remarks-as-he-plots-presidential-bid/?utm_campaign=iosapp&utm_source=pasteboard_app Where’s my apology Mike? You closed my school and turned me into a traveling substitute teacher. You stole our careers and incentivized our union and the city to discriminate against us in a myriad of ways. Twelve years a slave and now we’re all having flashbacks seeing you vie for our votes and support.

I wonder if Mike has another secret meeting planned with Randi? How much will it cost him and how much will it cost us? Don’t be fooled again.

Repost - 8/12/15 - Why does Murdoch Hate Trump?

As some of you may have heard, Mike Bloomberg is once again contemplating a run at the presidency. He bought his third term as mayor and could do the same now. He is the real deal (as compared to the complete fraud that is Trump) - a diabolical and financial genius, incredibly wealthy and smarter than 99% of the populace. Here’s a post from a long time ago - very little has changed - the NY Post and most of the 1% will back Bloomberg over Trump. If you think Trump is bad, you weren’t a civil servant under Mayor Bloomberg. Strange days, indeed.

Why Does Murdoch Hate Trump? Why Should We Care?

Why does Mr. Murdoch, or as I like to think of him - the Snow Miser, hate Trump? Why should we care? Well, as I've mentioned in previous post, the owner of the NY Post wants a new American Economy with Mr. Bloomberg http://atradventures.blogspot.com/2015/06/bloomberg-and-murdoch-modern-day-gilded.html . Their organization basically wants to cut wages across the board for many industries by opening up the work force to those who will work for much less. This new American economy would be paved with donations to wanting and wanton politicians. Mr. Trump brought out the fact that our system is broken and every politician is for sale. This candid remark happened while he was getting hammered by a very biased Megyn Kelly on Fox News (owned by Murdoch)  http://nyti.ms/1IJl9lP . I should also let you know that the NY Post is pushing hard for charter schools, the demise of the UFT and the immediate, if not sooner, end to mayoral control of NY schools http://nypost.com/2015/08/11/de-blasio-seeing-his-chances-of-school-control-fade-away/ . This is all to open up the huge untapped education market here in NYC.

Is Mr. Trump our friend? Is the enemy of our enemy, our friend? In this case, I would have to say yes. He is educating the public to some very shady practices that can lead to the ultimate destruction of public education as we know it. If our union disappears because of an unfavorable Supreme Court ruling, we won't be able to make any contributions that the Miser Brothers (Murdoch and Bloomberg)

most certainly will. That coupled with Murdoch's ownership of the NY Post and Fox News will be disastrous for us.

*** Please note:  I’m in no way endorsing the anti- Christ Trump. ***

Desperation for the Charter School Vampires

I’ve been following the numerous, ever increasing NY Post editorial attacks on deBlasio over charter schools https://nypost.com/2019/10/22/goodwin-bill-de-blasio-puts-politics-before-kids/?utm_campaign=iosapp&utm_source=pasteboard_app  https://nypost.com/2019/10/28/the-numbers-expose-team-de-blasios-no-room-lies/?utm_campaign=iosapp&utm_source=pasteboard_app   https://nypost.com/2019/10/21/for-shame-de-blasio-treats-hundreds-of-kids-like-un-persons/?utm_campaign=iosapp&utm_source=pasteboard_app and constantly pleading TV and radio ads from Eva. Eva and friends even had a protest and tried in vain to provoke deBlasio https://nypost.com/2019/10/21/de-blasio-ignores-success-academy-students-protesting-on-steps-of-city-hall/?utm_campaign=iosapp&utm_source=pasteboard_app. To his credit, he didn’t fall for it. Nothing seems to be working, so today the Post and Mona Davids (Charter school parent and enthusiast) upped the ante. You see it’s almost Christmas and everyone wants a new Jag. That’s not going to happen without more victims. How can they get the public and or politicians outraged enough to force the hand of the mayor into doing what they want or lift his control of schools? Well, it’s another attack on mayoral control of the DOE and teachers.

Recently, we’ve  been called radioactive sharks https://atradventures.blogspot.com/2019/08/are-nyc-public-school-teachers.html?m=1 and female teachers were inferred to be money hungry whores https://atradventures.blogspot.com/2019/07/are-female-nyc-teachers-greedy-whores.html?m=1- now it’s these two articles in today’s Post - https://nypost.com/2019/11/02/mayor-de-blasio-is-firing-fewer-teachers-accused-of-misconduct/?utm_campaign=iosapp&utm_source=pasteboard_app
and https://nypost.com/2019/11/02/nyc-pays-rubber-room-teacher-six-figures-20-years-after-sex-abuse-claims/?utm_campaign=iosapp&utm_source=pasteboard_app. It paints teachers as sex crazed Pedophiles that can do whatever they want, get highly paid for doing nothing (with the rest of the criminals in the ATR pool) - all while the poor vampires are locked out of the blood bank. Sue, as a wonderful and fair writer, these two articles are beneath you in their barely disguised goals.

Desperate times and Bravo to you, Mayor deBlasio!
